Happy Easter!!!

Today is Easter Sunday!

What a lovely, but busy week we have had!
We began with Maundy Thursday when we had a fellowship tea with communion led by Ann. It was a lovely time of fellowship to begin the weekend.

Good Friday we held a short service before joining all the other Wallsend churches in the park, it was lovely to see our children, along with children from the other churches recreate the good friday story.  And as is custom for our church (of many calories) we gave out lots of chocolate eggs to children at the park along with Easter stickers!  And it is always beautiful to be led in the worship by the salvation army band!

Following the service in the park we had our traditional fish and chip lunch at church, it was lovely to again have guests from other churches join us!  As usual the Fish and chips were lovely and everyone was well fed! A huge thank you to Karen for taking control of the orders this year!

And we had our men doing the dishes!!!!!!

This morning it was lovely to have Sarah back with us, we hope she doesnt leave it too long till she next visits!!  A beautiful service including communion and our Easter Sunday egg hunt which is always fun!!!

We do hope you enjoy all of your eggs!! And that you have a nice relaxing day today and tomorrow.

So I will leave you with the Lego Easter story which we showed during the service.

God Bless!!!!!!

Easter Week

What a busy week!

This week we will be having our Maundy Thursday communion led by Ann Caton, you are welcome to join us for this simple service of remembrance where we will be having communion and sharing in a simple meal.

Good Friday we will be meeting at church for a short service at 10.30am where we will then walk down to the park for a joint wallsend churches gathering before returning to church for our good Friday fish and chips!  It is always a wonderful way to celebrate good Friday with fellowship.

On sunday Sarah will be coming back to deliver our easter sunday service.  We have all missed her and it will be nice to have her back.

We do hope you can get along to one of our easter services.

It was hoped to be able to show The Passion New Orleans live, this Easter but there has not been enough days in the week, so here is a link, I do hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Happy Eastyer and God Bless from all of us at WBC!

We cannot let today pass without remembering a very well loved member of our church, who would have been celebrating his birthday along with his 3rd wedding anniversary.

3 years ago we were celebrating such a happy day, today we look back with fond memories tinged with sadness that he is not here with us.  Our thoughts are always with his wife Karen who is also a deeply loved member of our church and newly appointed deacon.

This week we also have the sad passing of an ex member of the church who served with us for many years and was a very important part of our church and gave so much, even though was not with us, him and his family were still loved by us, and will always have a special place in our hearts.  Both men are now with our lord, thoughts are with his family at this time.

April Family service

Today our family service was taken by Chris who talked to us about Unity.

How we are all different parts of the same body.  we all have our own strengths and weaknesses, we all do different roles just like the parts of the body all have different roles but they come together and work well together, and as Chris pointed out if one part of the body is unwell or broken the whole body suffers.

As it was a family service we demonstrated this by making our own people, and as usual a certain family went a bit silly and jumbled up the body parts!!! Am not naming any names but if you know us you will easily guess who!!
